DynamicPoint Adds Perpetual License Option to Pricing Model on Office 365 SharePoint Apps

DynamicPoint’s Office 365 SharePoint Apps for Invoice Automation and Customer & Vendor Portals now include a one-time, flat fee, perpetual license option. The SAAS affordable monthly fee option still exists and now you have either licensing model available.

Choosing the right option for your organization is dependent on many factors but keep in mind with DynamicPoint the following is inclusive for both models:

  • Unlimited number of users
  • Unlimited number of environments (test, development, production)
  • Unlimited number integrations/transactions/invoices

As you discern the best option for your organization review the benefits and potential cons for each:

Perpetual Licensing
First, a Perpetual License is a “One-Time, Flat Fee, Paid in Full” based software. Upon purchase you own the software therefore there are no recurring fees, no per user or per transaction fees assessed at month or year-end. Therefore, if you don’t like to make payments and you have the means to pay the full price of the software, you may do so. With annual maintenance you are safeguarded against the product becoming obsolete or outdated over time.

Pros:

  • You OWN the software
  • Software can be used indefinitely
  • Total Cost of Ownership is less in long term

Cons:

  • Higher upfront costs
  • New hardware or software maybe required

SAAS Licensing
SaaS or Software as a Service License can be best described as a “subscription” based software service. With this model you may take advantage of a lower cost at time of purchase however the recurring cost will exist as long as you are operating the software. If cash flow is of concern this can be an extremely attractive option to implement much needed software to fit your budget.

Pros:

  • Lower Upfront Cost
  • Pay As You Go Licensing
  • Upgrades, Maintenance is Inclusive of Subscription Fee

Cons:

  • Total Cost of Ownership Maybe More After a Few Years
  • No Asset at End of Agreement Period
